STREET KID GRAY
In the depths of a dystopian Asian city, a lone street kid fights to survive. She conceals her gender, suppresses any sign of weakness, and kills or steals when necessary—survival is her only law in this ruthless world.
Her helmet is a fusion of a gas mask and the fearsome visage of a Dragon and Lion Dance head. Once a symbol of joy from her past, it now serves a darker purpose—to strike fear into those who would harm her. In the toxic, polluted streets, a gas mask is essential, but the monstrous design of her headgear ensures that enemies think twice before getting too close.
Her weapon of choice is a stolen police-issue firearm, taken from the very forces that have been hunting her for years. Each shot fired is a defiance of the system that seeks to crush her—a reminder that she is still alive, still fighting.

Silhouette & Detailed Designs
Quick silhouette sketches help me define a distinct and striking outline for my character. As a child, she craves something exaggerated—bold, attention-grabbing, and powerful, a reflection of both her defiance and desire to stand out in a ruthless world.

Block Out in Zbrush

I used Marvelous Designer along with other DCC tools such as Maya, ZBrush, and Blender to model the character, based on the blockout model.

Once the base was established, I imported everything into ZBrush for detailed sculpting. If needed, I handled retopology in Maya before baking and texturing in Substance Painter.

For rigging, I used Advanced Skeleton. Since the model is static, I sculpted certain areas of colliding meshes instead of running a cloth simulation.

Finally, I groomed the hair on the mask using XGen.
All the final outputs are rendered in Redshift and composited in Nuke.
